About us

For more than 30 years, the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice (EkF TUKE) provided education in the field of study Finance, Banking and Investment and in the field of study Public Administration and Regional Development. At present, these two study fields have been combined into a single field Economics and Management. Graduates of EkF TUKE contribute to the professionalization of the financial and banking sector and public administration in Slovakia. The mission of the Faculty is to promote knowledge development and deliver high-quality education in the field of economic sciences, contribute to the development of society and shaping of the regional economy through providing research and consulting expertise, further education and other services to the local and regional community.

The Faculty of Economics strives to be a vibrant educational community, promote the spirit of democracy and humanism, foster tolerance among students and their ability of critical and creative thinking, create an environment supportive of scientific research and dissemination of knowledge, systematically participate in international cooperation. More than 1000 full-time and part-time students are currently studying at the faculty.

The study is fully accredited at all three levels of the study programmes offered by the faculty. After completing three- or four- year Bachelor’s degree study, students have the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor's degree (Bc.) or by completing two- or three-year Master’s degree study students can obtain a Master’s degree (Ing.). At the third level, the faculty offers doctoral studies in the study programme Finance and in the study programme Spatial and Regional Economics. The Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice prides itself on its reputation as a progressive faculty committed to deliver high-quality education, create friendly environment with a wide range of mobility opportunities for students and a focus on foreign languages.
